Bilateral Cooperation: Cuba and Guatemala to enhance cooperation

Cuba and Guatemala expressed their willingness to increase cooperation in several sectors including risk management and community development. The announcement was made by Cuban Deputy Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration, Orlando Requeijo, at the fifth Joint Intergovernmental Committee.

The Cuban official also pleaded for continuing bilateral collaboration in sports, health and other fields.

Guatemala's Presidential Planning Secretary Patricia Orantes, thanked the Cuban government and people for their support in the last ten years, despite the US-imposed blockade on the Caribbean Island, which she described as illegal.
