Bilateral Trade: Apples grown in Israeli-occupied Golan Heights sold to Syria

10,000 tons of apples grown in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and sold to Syria, have begun arriving in Damascus with the help of the UN.

This is the third consecutive year in which Syria has bought apples grown on the Golan, even though the country is technically still at war with Israel. "It's a question of supporting our relatives in the occupied Golan who retain their Syrian identity and attachment to the motherland," the official Syrian Arab News Agency said Monday.
