Authorities in Myanmar have arrested four more protesters over a rare demonstration demanding better living conditions, an official and people close to the rally said Saturday.
The protesters were among about 25 people who staged the half-hour protest Thursday near a Yangon market urging lower prices for basic commodities, more jobs and 24-hour electricity.
On Thursday, police arrested the protest leader, 40-year-old Htin Kyaw, - an ex-member of detained Aung San Suu Kyi's political party, the National League for Democracy.
