International Development: ADB pledges $1 million to Nepal

The Asian Development Bank has pledged a USD one-million grant to Nepal to help improve the livelihood of poor farmers and disadvantaged groups in Eastern Terai region of the country.

The government will also contribute an additional amount of USD 3.14 lakh to implement the project, which will be executed by ministry of agriculture and cooperatives, a press release by the ADB-Nepal said.

The grant will be provided through Japan fund for poverty reduction.
