Tonight's photo: Queen Mary 2
As explained last night, I took a day off from both work and blogging and went to see the "Queen Mary 2" which arrived in Sydney early this morning.
Sydneysiders turned up in their tens of thousands to see the beautiful ship, and all routes to Garden Island navy base, (where the ship was docked) were packed with people. Traffic was thrown into chaos as drivers slowed down or stopped to take a look.
I enjoyed every minute of it!
Not just because of the chance to see the magnificent Queen of the sea, but also because of the atmosphere. I think I talked to more people today than for a long time and as the vast majority seemed to be female, that was an added bonus!
Taking photographs was not a problem despite the large numbers. It was as though there was an unwritten rule, that once you had taken your photos form a prime vantage spot, you moved on to let someone else have a turn. Whenever I pointed my camera, people would stop and wait until I put the camera down .
Altogether I took 165 photos - 68 of the Queen Mar 2. This means I am totally confused as to which ones to keep. I haven't even begun to think about editing them yet.
Normal blog back tomorrow.
