Women's Issues: NGO to introduce marketing concept to help Nigeria's Girl Child

A non governmental organisation, Society for the Rights of the Girl Child in Nigeria (SorGirl), would soon introduce a marketing concept. The concept, known as the Multi-Level Marketing Network (MLMN), aims to cater for the economic needs of the girl child in the Northern Region. SorGirl Chairperson, Ms Hannatu Kayit in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said the concept would jump-start scholarship awards for girls from the less privileged families.

He added "the concept which has proven to be a good fall back plan for workers after retirement and a good full time job for those without any source of income, will also assist in the empowerment training of the girl-child'.

On a personal note, I first came across the term, "Girl Child" in Carole King's song, "Friday's tie-dye nightmare" I wasn't sur if I liked it then - and I am still not sure now!
