NSW State Library

Photo: NSW State Library

I think I have said before, I love the New South Wales State Library.

The old building in the photo is the Mitchell Wing, and the modern building the General Reference Library (GRL). The girl in the photo is heading towards one of Sydney's large parks - the Domain. Also close by is the Royal Botanical Gardens.

I used to spend many an hour sitting in this area, taking a break from viewing old newspapers in a semi-darkened booth. I used to get so involved with news of the past that it almost became reality. I needed the break to get me back to the right time period.

There is now a cafe in the spot where I used to sit, the photo was taken over a much needed cup of coffee.
