The Grubs: Everything I do, I do it for you.

"Everything I do, I do it for you". Aaw. That is so sweet Gerry.

May I ask a question? Just between you and me and not between me and your team of highly paid media advisors.

Is there any reason you came to that conclusion "after" Madeleines disappearance and not before? Because if, "everything I do, I do it for you" was true, would that not have included looking after Madeleine's welfare - including heaven forbid - you staying behind to look after the three littlies while Kate went to din-dins?

After all, it's not as though it was a special occasion. You lunched and dined with your pissed-up mates every day of your holiday. Missing one night wouldn't have been so difficult.

While I am here, can I ask you yet another question - sorry, I know it's a pain in the butt, but I don't belong to the British media. Why did you choose that particular song?

I needed a little bit of a break tonight, so I took time off to have a glass of whisky and listen to some nice music. By coincidence I put on six CDs I made from various others in my collection, and played them at "random". The selection contained two songs written about the singer's children. "Child of Mine" by Carole King, and "Forever Young" in this instance sung by Joan Baez.

Is there ay reason you could not have chosen a song that related to your daughter whose name you can't spell - and not about how bloody marvellous you are?

If only you were that caring before the event and not afterwards.
