1. It has been well publicised that you are devout Catholics, (the word "devout" has been frequently used in the media) and regular church goers. You have been photographed praying, holding vigils and have talked about your belief in your faith on countless occasions. As devout Catholics you were granted an audience with the Pope, who then blessed a photograph of Madeleine.
Am I correct in thinking that the Catholic Church is vigorously opposed to IVF births?
Is it true that all three of your children are IVF babies? I ask this question because of a report in the British newspaper, The Independent, dated May 06 - before the media circus began. "All three were IVF babies".
If this is true, do you pick and choose which parts of the Catholic doctrine suit your needs? Is your faith a faith of convenience?
2. A question for Gerry McCann. Your sister Trish Cameron, (who along with her husband looked after the twins while you went on a side-show alley media tour of Europe) was asked why you and your wife didn't take advantage of baby-sitting facilities at the apartment. This was her answer, "In hindsight, yes, Gerry and Kate wish they hadn’t left the children alone, but it’s hard when you’re on holiday."
The apartment has an in-room baby sitting service and a supervised night-time creche. Just how bloody hard is it for a cardioligist and a doctor to organise care?
3. You did not take the two-year old twins with you on your trip to Rome, saying they were too young to go to Italy. Is there any reason you think they were too young to travel with their parents, but old enough to be left in the care of their three year old sister?
4. Kate McCann. In an interview with the BBC, you insisted that Madeleine could not have woken up and wandered off. In fact, it appears you and your husband were so confident that the children, (all aged three and under) would not wake, that every night for five nights, you chose not to make use of the apartment's child care facilities, opting instead to leave them alone in a ground floor apartment with the windows and doors unlocked.
Is there any reason you are so confident the children would not wake on any of those five nights? Did you have a system in place to ensure they slept?
5. Before this tragedy became a high profile, out-of-control bandwagon, it was reported that Maddy was a known sleepwalker. It was also reported that this fact was known to the child's aunt and to neighbours in the UK. Are these reports true? If they are, please go back to Question 4.
6. Kate McCann. A small but interesting point. It has been widely reported that you discovered Madeleine missing when you went to check on the children at approx 10pm, (although the actual time varies). It has also been widely reported that you screamed, "They've taken her, they've taken her". There were two daughters in the room, yet you did not mention a name. May I also ask who, "they" might be?
Forgive me for asking the sort of questions and raising issues that so far the British media have been at great pains to avoid putting to you, but you have started a campaign to ensure a high level of interest in this issue - and with interest come questions. You would like the public to help your cause not only by providing information that may help resolve the mystery of your daughter's whereabouts, but also with donations to a trust fund.
Would you like to be interviewed by myself and answer or clarify some of the above issues as a courtesy for your intended target audience?
Perhaps being asked hard but legitimate questions is not in the rules as far as the McCann's are concerned? After all, we all saw the British media's reaction to their German counterparts having the audacity to ask a perfectly valid question.
