ISP stuff up - and Mail Server upgrade

I turned on my PC at 8am but could not connect to my ISP. All three numbers responded with the engaged signal. I then phoned customer service.

Lo and behold, they were unaware of any problems until I told them. A very nice man who had some vague idea of what he was doing (believe me, even "vague" is considered a benchmark of excellence with Australian ISPs) checked with his Team Leader (what's wrong with "supervisor"!) and confirmed what I already knew.

There's a problem.

He promised to "escalate" the issue and send it down the line. I just wanted the bloody thing fixed!

To make matters worse he asked if I knew there were also problems with emails. No, I didn't. Because the only way you would know that is by phoning technical services on an unrelated matter and hear the recorded message - provided an operator does not answer before the message was played! Although it was a planned outage - no other warning was given.

Bottom line.
I have only been able to connect in the last five minutes. (7:25pm Saturday Sydney time)

The mail server upgrade will not be completed until 5pm, Sunday, Sydney time.

Even then, emails may experience a two hour delay!

As I write, email does appear to be coming through. 174 on newperspectives@iprimus.com.au and 58 on mikehitchen@mhitchenconsult.com

There may be delays in answering mail!

Would you bloody believe it:)
