Sex: Brits embarrassed by condoms

According to a survey by Family Planning Association (FPA), most Britons find it difficult to talk to a new partner about condoms, with 61 per cent admitting they find the conversation embarrassing.

The study found those over 30 found such conversations just as difficult as those younger.
"People in their 30s, 40s and 50s, who may be supremely confident talking about everything else in their lives, struggle at the thought of talking about condoms," Anne Weyman, chief executive of the FPA, said.

Which is probably why I end up with so many combs!

However, as this was reported in the British media, I think the British press have far more to be embarrassed about than little things like that.

Over here we are perhaps not so shy. Back in 2005, I wrote an article about sex education in Sydney schools and linked to a photo of a school teacher putting a condom over the top of a hockey stick.

Thank goodness the teacher wasn't from Blue Peter!
