Thinking of Minneapolis

Since just before 10 am this morning local time, Australian media has been giving regular updates on the tragic bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Even as I write, Australian radio is giving another update - outside of its normal news coverage.

The Internet makes the world a much smaller place, and overseas disasters are now no longer as remote as they once were. Sydney is a city of bridges, so we can identify even more with what has happened.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to those who have lost their lives - and to their family, friends and loved ones.
