I pass this town house every day, (it's literally about 30 yards from me!) and it always looks beautiful. I have taken scores of photos using two different cameras - but for some reason I can never get a good photo of the magnificent, colourful display.
This morning I tried again and in doing so held up half a dozen pedestrians who waited patiently until I had finished. It has always amazed me how courteous people are when I take a photograph - probably because most people have their own camera and can relate to someone wanting to get the shot just right.
Not everyone waits of course, sometimes the senior citizens walk past with a defiant air - but in Lane Cove, the senior citizens are known for their lack of manners and politeness. The kids say "please" and "thank you" as a matter of course, yet you will hardly ever hear those words form the senior citizens.
"What's the time?" or "When's the bus due" is normally the extent of their manners. And when you tell them they don't believe you, so why bother asking in the first bloody place?! Of course it doesn't stop such people from phoning up talk-back radio stations to complain about the manners of kids these days - wasn't like that in my day.
Well if it wasn't like that in your day - why practice it in mine?!
Wherever you may be - be safe
