Literature: Vatican to publish Knights Templar papers

ABC reports that "The Vatican has published secret documents about the trial of the Knights Templar, including a long-lost parchment showing that Pope Clement V initially absolved the medieval order of heresy. The 300-page volume entitled 'Processus Contra Templarios' (Latin for "Trial against the Templars'') came out in a limited edition of 799 copies, printing documents from the Vatican's secret archives. The Vatican will hold a news conference about the publication on Oct. 25.

An 800th copy will go to Pope Benedict XVI, said Barbara Frale, the researcher who found the long-overlooked parchment tucked away in the archives in 2001.

Before you put it on your wish list, I should warn you that the edition will cost $8,377
