Agriculture: Vietnam to turn agricultural land over for industrial use

Vietnam is to allocate 10-15 percent of agricultural and other land, for industrial and service use. The plan envisages using land yielding low food outputs to develop industry and service, while still ensuring national food security.

Local media reported that Vietnamese Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen, said that over the past two decades, Vietnam has set aside around three percent of agricultural land for industrial development.
