Bilateral Relations: Iran and Turkey discuss political cooperation

In a meeting with Turkey's deputy foreign minister, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Reza Attar, underlined Tehran's intention to expand ties with Ankara.

According to Foreign Ministry Media Department report, Attar said, "Iran-Turkey relations are based upon historical, geographical, political and economic facts."

Turkey's Deputy Foreign Minister Onal Couyek Ouz, expressed pleasure with opening a new round of consultations between officials of both foreign ministries and underlined necessity of taking common stances on the regional developments.

Ouz said, "Political situation in the region as well as neighboring countries is directly related to national interests of both Iran and Turkey."

Ouz also called for expansion of bilateral interactions in the field of common politics between Tehran and Ankara.
