Human Resources: Aussie Santa told to go for "ho,ho,ho"

A Santa Claus working for a department store in Cairns in Queensland, has been sacked for using offensive and derogatory language.

Channel Seven news reports, John Oakes has been working as a Santa for the past four years in the Cairn's Myer store. He had just finished his fifth shift this week, when his termination sounded. "When I got home, I had a phone call from Westaff and they told me I wasn't working at Myer anymore".

It seems Victorian recruitment agency Westaff, considered his cheery, "Ho, ho, ho" as offensive and "derogatory to women and frightening to children".

Suggested alternatives include, "ha, ha, ha" or "hey, hey, hey".

Westaff - I have a suggestion!
