Gas: Brazil calls for talks with Argentina and Bolivia to ensure gas supply

Brazilian Mines and Energy minister Nelso Hubner has called for a meeting with Argentina and Bolivia to ensure and improve the provision of natural gas to Argentina and Brazil.

The call follows last weeks announcement by Bolivian president Evo Morales, that Bolivia would not be able to honor its gas provision contracts with Argentina and Brazil in the next twelve months.

According to Bolivian Hydrocarbons minister Carlos Villegas - "At the end of the year we’ll be producing 42 million cubic meters per day of gas which will not be enough to comply with the contracts we have with Argentina and Brazil”.
