Iran calls for OIC meeting to review "inhumane crimes committed by the Zionist regime"

Iran has called for an extraordinary meeting of OIC foreign ministers to review what it describes as "the inhumane crimes committed by the Zionist regime".

The request was made in a message issued by Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki to Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu.

Mottaki said, "devising appropriate and urgent mechanisms to stop Zionists' crimes was one of the main reasons behind Iran's request for holding the OIC foreign ministerial meeting".

IRNA reports that In related developments, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in his consultations with Malaysian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, as the current OIC chairman, has called for holding the foreign ministerial meeting urgently.
