Kosovo: German FM says independence can not be stopped

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has said the independence of Kosovo can no longer be stopped.

Saturday's issue of the daily Neuen Ruhr/Neuen Rhein Zeitung, quotes the Foreign Minister as saying the international community cannot "prevent" Kosovo's quest for "state independence," adding "We can only ensure that violence won't erupt again."

Earlier Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, said the EU would have to choose between closer relations with Serbia and supporting an independent Kosovo.
