Kosovo: Bulgaria wont immediately recognise independent Kosovo

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, has said his country will not immediately recognize Kosovo when independence is declared.

Speaking at a news conference he said, "Bulgaria is working on a coherent European position on the matter,"

He stressed that Bulgaria's aim is to have all EU members on Balkan hold one position on the status of Kosovo, because the problem is very important to Kosovo and Serbia, and the resolution achieved on Kosovo is necessary to guarantee the regional stability.

He added, "Bulgaria continues to be a factor of stability in the Balkans and the Black Sea region and has declared its readiness to contribute to the pursuit of regional cooperation and inter-regional development".
