Kosovo: Russia ready to act if Kosovo unilaterally declares independence.

A senior Russian diplomat has said Russia has prepared a package of measures if Kosovo unilaterally declares independence.

Special envoy Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko told RIA news agency, "These measures are completely in line with the position we have assumed on the issue of Kosovo's independence," adding, "A chance to resume such talks remains, but... it moves closer to zero each day".

Vladimir Putin has previously voiced his country's strong opposition to unilateral proclamation of the independence of Kosovo.
