The European Commission has announced a program to bankroll to the tune of over eleven million euros, media and cultural projects promoting the EU and its relations with countries from the Middle East.
A statement released by the European Commission delegation visiting Syria, said the grants will be used for the production, transmission and diffusion of television and radio projects, as well as press and on-line information.
Among the countries participating in the initiative are Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories and Israel, as well as Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and the Ukraine.
