Slovakia: Slovakia opposed to US missile system

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico has said his country opposes the United States' plan to build a missile defence system in Poland and the Czech Republic.

The plan has drawn strong opposition from Russia and will pose a threat to Slovakia's security, said Fico after meeting with visiting Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The United States plans to deploy 10 missile defence interceptors in Poland and a radar system in the Czech Republic as part of a defence system, saying it is aimed at resisting attacks from Iran.
