Sri Lanka: Were government troops behind bus bombing?

It has been alleged that the ambushing a school bus that killed 18 people, including 11 children, was the work of Sri Lankan government troops.

Radio Australia reports, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam - the LTTE says a "deep penetrating unit" of the military carried out the bomb attack against the school bus in the district of Mannar where heavy fighting has been raging for weeks.

In a statement, the LTTE said that the dead included two teachers, one of whom was a catholic nun, and the school principal.
