Pakistan and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase the frequency of flights per week from 12 to 28 for each side.
Xinhua reports the two countries agreed that each would be entitled to designate three airlines to operate the agreed services on the specified routes, a Foreign Office statement said, adding that presently only one airline operates between India and Pakistan.
According to the MoU, the two sides will add Chennai for the designated airlines of Pakistan and Islamabad for the designated airlines of India, as third destination.
The MoU will also enable direct air connectivity between the capitals of the two countries.
