Bulgaria: Bulgaria to spend billions on infrastructure

Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev announced there are 188 infrastructure projects currently being executed, worth a total of 11 billion euros. The funds already available account for about 30 percent of the total necessary sum.

"I am sure that in 2008 there will be significant additional funding from the EU programs," Stanishev said at a press conference.

Forty-eight infrastructure projects, or 25 percent of the planned program, have already been completed.
