Albania: Death toll in army depot blast now 25

Often a story hits the headlines and interest lasts a day or two before it is forgotten by the world media - something I too am guilty of at times. The series of explosions at an Albanian munitions dump, is one such story.

Albanian troops sifting through the ruins at the depot have found another body, bringing the death toll of the blast to 25.

Albanian authorities said the woman's body was found under the wreckage left by the on March 15 at Vora, 15 kilometres west of capital Tirana.

It has been reported that 90,000 tons of aging ammunition in need of destruction, still exist at 26 sites throughout Albania.
