Bilateral Relations: Iran and South Korea to boost cooperation

Iran and South Korea have stressed the need to develop bilateral cooperation, with particular focus on the transport sector.

IRNA reports that in a meeting with South Korea's Minister of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, Chung Jong-hwan, the Iranian ambassador to Seoul, Mohammad-Reza Bakhtiari, called for promotion of ties in the fields of transportation, building and airport construction.

Bakhtiari expressed hope that the two countries would usher in direct flights between the two capitals in an attempt to expand cultural and tourism ties.

The Iranian envoy suggested that the two countries' experts discuss technical issues in a joint meeting to come up with feasible solutions.
