It had to happen - a Maddy sighting in Sydney - right in the heart of the CBD (Central Business District). The newspaper that broke the story dispatched a photographer to the scene with remarkable speed - fast enough to snap police interviewing the "suspect" Not that I am being cynical of course.
A radio announcer described it as "one of the thousands of sightings" of Madeleine and noted that she would hardly be likely to be walking around the CBD with a man wearing a beret. Men wearing berets tend to get noticed in Sydney.
The sighting occurred in a building featured heavily in my photoblog - the Queen Victoria Building. The QVB as it is known, also leads to Town Hall railway station (underground) and the Telegraph reports, "CityRail staff appeared to shadow a middle-aged man wearing a black beret and a little, blonde girl until police arrived at Town Hall train station to question the pair."
But wait - there may be something to it. If you take a look at the photograph - the guard looks Moroccan!
