Environment: Cachet Lake in Chile suddenly vanishes

Global warming has been blamed for the sudden disappearance of a glacial lake in Chile. Scientists say higher than normal temperatures caused the Colonia glacier to melt into nearby Cachet Lake.

The melting ice caused the lake to burrow a five kilometer long tunnel through the glacier, emptying its waters into the Baker River.
