International Development: Philanthropist's donation helps Islamic Development Bank build 500 shelters in Bangladesh

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is too build almost 500 cyclone shelters/schools in Bangladesh's coastal districts. The project is expected to be completed by June this year.

The project is financed by $130 million IDB received from an anonymous philanthropist, according to The Financial Express. It is believed to be biggest private donation in the country's history.

$110 million will be spent for constructing cyclone shelters/schools and the remaining 20 million dollars for the rehabilitation of agriculture and fisheries in the Sidr affected districts.
