Iran: "Enemies are afraid of the grandeur and dignity of the Iranian nation" - Ahmadinejad

IRNA reports President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the era of enemies of Iranian nation has come to an end.

"Enemies are afraid of the grandeur and dignity of the Iranian nation," the president said in his address to a group of families of war-time martyrs in this northeastern province.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Mashhad on Wednesday on a provincial tour along with his cabinet members.

The president further commented on the issue of Iran's peaceful nuclear activities and the allegations raised by Western powers against it.

"Iran's peaceful nuclear program and the concern of the Western powers over development of a bomb by Iran is nothing but an excuse as they are not afraid of terrorism. They, themselves, are the root cause of terrorism," the president reiterated.

He continued, "What they are afraid of is a country which has raised against them in a world under their domination."

The president warned big powers against moving against the will of the Iranian nation, stressing, "If they continued their opposition to the will of the Iranian nation, they would receive a crushing response from the brave Iranian people.
