Gaza: Egypt closes Rafah border crossing

Xinhua reports Egypt has closed its borders with southern Gaza Strip after the Rafah border crossing has been opened for three days, officials in Gaza said.

Under an agreement between Egypt and Gaza ruling the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Rafah border crossing was opened for three days from Saturday to allow patients and other Palestinians holding foreign nationalities to cross into Egypt.

The interior ministry of the deposed Hamas government in Gaza announced that it works on a plan to manage Rafah crossing and arrange movement of passengers in case the crossing is reopened.
