Burma: Junta arrests celebrated comedian

Radio Netherlands reports that Burma's military junta has brought charges against one of the country's most celebrated comedians for inciting public unrest. The comic, Zarganar, faces up to two years behind bars if convicted.

He was arrested two months ago after criticising the country's military rulers for failing to respond adequately to the natural disaster in the wake of Cyclone Nargis. The authorities say banned video material was also seized from the comedian's home.
