Bolivia: Martial law declared in troubled province

Bolivian President Evo Morales has declared martial law in a province hit by violence between his supporters and anti-government protesters.

Bolivia's defense minister, Walker San Miguel, announced the action in the eastern Pando province on Friday.

The government has banned meetings of more than three people in Pando and said anyone carrying weapons will be arrested.

The Associated Press reports troops have taken control of the airport in the provincial capital and fired shots to disperse protesters.
