Defense: South Korea and Russia to begin antiterrorism exercise

South Korea's coast guard has announced a joint antiterrorism exercise with Russia. The exercise will take place on Tuesday off the southern island of Jeju.

The Jeju coast guard said the one-day drill would test their joint capability to seize terrorist vessels, rescue hostages and extinguish fires.

"This is mainly to better cope with a terrorist situation at sea," spokesman Choi Jae-jun said.
