Energy: Tajikistan slashes power supply to nine hours per day

Itar-Tass reports Tajikistan is facing tighter restrictions on electricity supply to all categories of consumers. Electricity will only be supplied for nine hours a day.

The measures have the consent of the Tajik government because of the electricity shortage and the reduction of electricity generation at local power plants as a result of the reduction of the amount of water in water reservoirs, says a report of the state-owned Barki Tojik Company, which is a monopolist in the sphere of electricity generation.

Electricity will be supplied to the population from 17.00 to 21.00 and from 03.00 to 08.00.
