Sri Lanka:

SLAF fighter jets launched precision air sorties at an identified LTTE camp located 2km South of Kanagarayankulama, East of A-9 trunk road, Tuesday (Sep 9) at 1p.m.

Air Force Spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, speaking to defence.lk said the sorties were made on accurate information received on intense terrorist activity in the area. Heavy LTTE casualties are expected in the air strike, he further added.

The SLAF attack comes hours after an LTTE air craft was reportedly shot down in the skies off Mullaittiuvu, following a successful interception mission by the F-7 flyers.
