Danish central bank Nationalbank has raised interest rates from 5 percent to 5.5 percent.
The Nationalbank in a statement: "The discount rate and the current account rate remain unchanged at 4.5 percent," it added in the statement.
"The increasing, the second time within a month, aimed to protect the Danish krone against speculation," Nationalbanken Spokesperson Karsten Biltoft was quoted by Danish Daily Politiken on-line as saying.
