Bilateral Relations: Iraq hopes relationship with Syria not affected by U.S. raid

The Iraqi government has expressed hope that its relationship with Syria will not be damaged by the air-strike by the U.S. military - described by Syria as a terrorist act.

Iraq is investigating the incident and will provide all information to Syria, according to a statement by the Iraqi foreign ministry.

The issue underlined the importance of security cooperation between the two countries so as to avoid similar incidents in the future, the statement said, adding that Iraq hopes the "brotherly relations" will not be affected.
