"I'm not going to be a candidate," Lagos said in an interview with the El Mercurio newspaper published Sunday.
Lagos said he will support any candidate chosen by the center-left ruling coalition for the presidency.
He added his current priority is to help candidates from the ruling coalition win the municipal elections slated for late October.
