You can make a reservation on the Internet for the newest tourist attraction in Macedonia – the first village in the world that offers a holiday in a polluted environment, the Macedonian Vecer daily writes.
The Internet site that offers environment unfriendly tourism in the village of Miladinovci says that the village offers “excellent adventures” – various types of air polluters, paint and poisonous smell. It also offers a two-day safari in the village of Okta, i.e. Miladinovci. For USD 135 you can see new species of animals and plants, and for USD 50 you can see the gases OKTA oil refinery emits. A three-day stay in the homes of Miladinovci residents costs USD 90, while watching poison pouring out into rivers and valleys costs USD 40.
The idea to set up the OKTA travel agency appeared after a series of complaints lodged by Miladinovci residents about the pollution the refinery causes. OKTA thinks the idea of environment unfriendly tourism will bring profits to the refinery and population, the daily reads.
