Meteorological working groups have been sent to the southwestern China since March 26. Artificial rainfall has moistened parts of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Chongqing Municipality, according to the CMA.
Severe droughts have hit southwestern China since autumn last year, causing drinking water shortage, crops damage and economic losses.
The National Meteorological Center forecast Sunday that more rainfall was expected during the next three days in southwest China, southeastern part of Tibet and most parts of northeast China.
