Iran: Present global situation has made the world nations reluctant to ignore their own interests in favor of the US benefits

IRNA – Former chairman of the New Zealand National Consultative Committee on Disarmament said the countries’ promotion of ties with Iran indicates the failure of west's sanctions which aims at putting more pressures on Iran.

alking to IRNA on Wednesday, Bob Rigg said that Iran, despite the existing sanctions, would be capable of meeting its nation’s needs.

The present global situation has made the world nations reluctant to ignore their own interests in favor of the US benefits, Rigg said.

Referring to the recent energy agreement between Tehran and Moscow after the latest United Nations resolution regarding sanctions on Iran, the former NZ chairman said it showed how invalid such resolutions were.

Pointing to the Indian government’s interest in promoting trade cooperation with Iran, Rigg further said New Delhi, too, did not care about sanctions and economic restrictions in its ties with Iran.

Rigg further underlined that Tehran is able to continue its way to gain access to the peaceful nuclear technology.

Neither anti-Iran resolutions nor sanctions could compel Iran to curb its peaceful nuclear activities, Rigg said, adding that such actions proved the failure of west policies about Iran.
