Scorned by those in more professional overseas media environments, they dismiss criticism with the air of a self-important maƮtre d' at an over-priced restaurant, believing that their words of wisdom are a la carte, when in fact, it is nothing more than fast-food journalism for the masses. "Do you want French Fries with your double-hamnewsburger?"
However it must be said British journalism does serve a purpose. It is rare one gets the opportunity to see such blatant unprofessionalism in any professional sector - apart from Fox News but that goes without saying.
The age of new media is upon us, the old media struggles for credibility as agendas and bias are open to scrutiny by an information thirsty and increasingly informed and questioning global audience.
The new media marches triumphantly up the beach armed with knowledge, in search of answers, and a quest to impart information to a world-wide audience previously denied access to non media-establishment sources.
The old media scramble for the boats armed with little but unjustified self-adulation. Deserted by those they once claimed to serve, backed only by those they deny they now serve.
