Freedom of Speech: Pentagon's 'Burn a Book Day 'Pentagon orders the destruction of Afghan war memoirs

The Pentagon has ordered the destruction of almost ten thousand copies of memoirs by a former intelligence officer involved in the Afghanistan campaign. The Defence Department called the book a threat to America's national security. A revised edition has since been published. Earlier, the author Anthony Shaffer told RT the first version of the memoirs ("Operation Dark Heart: Spycraft and Special Ops on the Frontlines of Afghanistan — and the Path to Victory") was banned when information backing up his claims emerged.
