Iran: Iran publishes report on human rights abuses in US

Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA – IRI Foreign Ministry’s Human Watch Center issued a report on human rights abuse in US here Wednesday on verge of publication of and survey on annual US Human Rights Report at UN Geneva Headquarters.

According to an IRNA Evening Service report, the Information and Media Head office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stressed in the report that the United States, one of the self claimed standard bearers of defending the human rights around the globe, has despite the international community, and the UN demand, and even President Barack Obama’s promise, still not shut down the Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib horrendous prisons.
It is stressed in the report that the United States has also still not joined the most important convention related to the economic, social and cultural rights that is among the most important human right documents.

The Children’s Rights Committee of the United Nations, too, has announced that the United States has been one of the greatest producers and distributors of the world child pornography products, while America is now one of the only two countries in the world that has still not joined the International Children’s Rights Convention.

Regret is expressed in the report that since the year 2001 the electric shocker batons of the US cops have killed 334 people.
