Angola: Over 5,000 Angolans return from DRC

At least 5,158 Angolan citizens have returned to the country voluntarily from the Democratic Republic of Congo, since 2010, through Kimbata border post, in Maquela do Zombo district, 310 kilometres north off Uije city.

According to the chief of social welfare in Maquela do Zombo, Miviankixi Daniel, at least 2,278 of them are heads of families and the remaining were assisted before their resettlement to different zones of origin.

Miaviankixi said that the Angolans were resettled in the districts of Damba, Maquela do Zombo, Sanza Pombo, Bungo, Bembe, Buengas, Kimbele, Mucaba and Songo.
