Egypt: Iran - Ali Larijani says Iran’s Parliament supports the regional uprisings particularly the popular revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia

Tehran, Jan 30, IRNA – Iran’s Parliament (Majlis), on behalf of the nation, supports the regional uprisings particularly the popular revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Sunday.

“The time has reached to overcome puppet autocratic regimes by relying on the Islamic teachings,” Larijani said in his address to Majlis open session.

The speaker added that popular revolution in the region started from Tunisia and soon spread to other regional states.

“The evolutionary trend of such regional revolutions has surprised dictatorial regimes,” Larijani stressed.

Referring to the contradictory reactions of the US as well as those of certain western powers vis-à-vis regional developments, Larijani said during the past three days the US President Barack Obama has made three different reactions to the issue.

Such attitude indicates that western states, including the US, have no knowledge about the Islamic states and are far behind the trend of developments in the Middle East region as they have been following a reactionary approach towards regional states, Larijani stressed.
